If you are not a linguist you can make good use of the following tips.
Translate only relevant sections of existing documents or produce shorter documents in your own language and have these translated.
Keep some local flavor if you like, but check with a native speaker to make sure that adaptation is possible. Indicate whether conversions (e.g. inches to cm?s, or pounds to kg?s) are to be done by the translator.
Is it for information only? Is it for publication, therefore needing proofing? Is the language technical, market-based, legal, etc?
Previous approved translations, examples of style and tone of company documents, product information, glossaries, clarification of acronyms, terminology, etc. can make the translation process a lot smoother.
Please do not simply provide the URL. If possible arrange to have the site files sent to us, or have the content extracted and send it in a copy platform (e.g. MS Word) or any convenient form.
Individual translators can typically translate 2500-3000 words/day. Consider: how much time did you spend producing the original? Agencies can use more translators to work on your document and thus reduce the time.
But we can work with whatever format suits you best. PDF and image files can also be the source. The most important thing is that every part should be readable for the translators.
The more versions you have, the more likely it is that errors will creep into the final version. Sometimes you have no choice - sometimes deadlines are so tight that work on the translation must begin before you?ve finalized the original text.
Tell the translation company if any words (usually product names) are to be left in the original language as internationally recognized terms, or localized.
So be sure to leave white space in any publishing design. When agreeing on the price of the translation, use the word count of the source text to avoid later disputes.

Offer is made based on the word count. Word count is defined as the length of the text to be translated based on the number of words. If the word count indicated in the offer exceeds the actual word count, our agency will refund the difference. If it is less, the client can decide whether to accept the order correction or not.
Our agency is not entitled to issue authentic translations. However, many bureaus and authorities accept certified translations as such (tenders, contracts, corporate documents). In case of an certified translation we affix a validation to the translation, which attests to the identical content of the original text and the translation. We then print the translation and affix a stamp and a signature to every page of the document, which is then dispatched to the client via postal service.
Our agency solely contracts certified translators for translation work. Translators know the specialist language of their area of specialty and their target language is usually their mother tongue. The language check (proofreading) involves the checking of the text by a second translator specialist to enable a high degree of reliability. Language checks can be requested also for the purpose of linguistic improvement and double-checking.
Payment is done after placing the order according to the type of offer requested by the client. The client has the option to pay using a credit card (on the secure site of CIB Bank) or through PayPal. The translation starts right after the checkout.
Fast translations are done in an urgent manner, sometimes beyond working hours and the involvement of several translators simultaneously. In all cases, our agency guarantees that deadlines are duly met and we offer a proportionate refund for any delay suffered.
In accordance with our General Terms and Conditions, Hungarian Translation assumes full confidentiality for any information obtained or accessed during the fulfillment of the translation assignment.
